EMILY AND THE WATER TABLE

Not much going on around here today. Started out rough, Emily was cranky and unpleasant, but the afternoon was much better. We played outside in the water. She enjoyed playing with Apache and spraying herself in the face with the water hose!

Still Celebrating

We have had a busy week this week. On Tuesday, Laura, Caleb and Graysen came up. We went to the museum and then we had lunch here at the house. Emily and Caleb played with all the toys, but Caleb really enjoys Emily's kitchen. We all had a good visit.

On Wednesday, Peg and Brian came down. Since they were unable to make it to the party on Saturday, we had another party. We still had the decorations up from Saturday (Emily's request) and we had a carrot cake and of course, Peg and Brian had gifts! Emily got her first bike. How she knew she was suppose to have a helmet...I don't know. As she was getting on the bike, she kept touching her head saying" helm". So Uncle Brian went out and got her a helmet. She really likes it and hardly takes it off?!? She was all into Uncle Brian even before he got her the helmet. She just kept on saying his name and wanting him to play with her. She enjoyed jumping on the trampolene (which was given to us over the weekend by our new neighbor) and taking a walk with Peg around the neighborhood. Although Peg pushed her doll stroller down the hill, she still enjoyed the walk! She was up late last night, and took a 3 hour nap today. She played outside this afternoon/evening, wearing the helmet off and on all day. She is so funny!

We can't wait to go to WV and spend some time with them. We miss you guys already.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY

We had a very nice weekend celebrating Emily turning "2". Friday evening, Nancy, Carla, Ty and Bryana came down to spend the weekend. The kids went to bed around 10, which was two hours past Emily's normal bed time. Nancy, Carla and I stayed up until midnight icing cupcakes and getting things in order for Emily's party.

The party was alot of fun! We had around 22 people inside because it was a little too cool and windy outside for the little ones. We had plenty of pizza, cupcake and cookies and all the kids played nicely together. Emily received so many nice gifts. She loves her little people mini van that Trenton got her. As a matter of fact, that was the one thing she had to take to bed with her that night. She racked up on clothes as well. Some really pretty sundresses, and new pjs as well.

Saturday night, Nancy treated us to Cracker Barrell and by 8 pm, Emily crashed. She was exhausted. Carla, Ty, Nacy and I stayed up late playing "Sorry", which Ty beat us at.

We were sad to see 10 am come around when our house guest had to head home. Emily only cried for about a minute and then she was back to shooting hoops with her new basket ball hoop. After cleaning house for a bit, Todd, Emily and I took a 2 hour nap! We are very proud of Emily for being so good this weekend, and sharing her room and toys with everyone.

We will spend tomorrow getting back into our routine, and hopefully we will be having more house guest this week. We will see......

Nothing Much Going On.....

Well, we haven't been up to much lately. Emily is doing GREAT at sleeping in her own bed. She loves it! She wakes up about once a night and I go in and she falls right back to sleep. With the exception of the other night and she stayed awake for about an hour just relaxing. That is not uncommon for her, she does that occasionally. That night I asked her to come and get in bed with me and she refused. I am really proud of us!

Todd had to go back to work this week. He still didn't get that turkey. Only in his dreams. He slept in every morning except one. I don't know if it was because he didn't want to get up at 4 am and go or if he really wanted to spend the day with us?!? His next vacation will be the first week of June. We are not sure what we will be getting into. Maybe go the beach and probably take Emily camping in the mountains.

We are getting ready for her birthday party on Saturday. We have been talking to her about it trying to get her excited. It looks like the weather is going to be really nice. I hope she has a fun day! I can't believe that she is turning 2. We will post more over the weekend.

You have got to hate it when you roll out of bed...... or in this case doesn't look too bad!

Last night was Emily's first night of sleeping in her new bed. It is actually just the twin mattresses on the floor at this time. She was proud of her new bed and after our normal nightly routine, she went to sleep easily. A few hours later, Todd went to check on her to discover that Emily had fallen out of bed! We are guessing that she rolled out and then positioned herself onto her teddy bear that just happen to be beside the bed. As most of you know, Emily has slept with us since the day we came home from the hospital. Letting her sleep in her own room in her own bed is going to be very difficult for me! So when I was ready to go to bed a little after midnight, I went and carried her to bed with me. I know.... I have issues. However, today we went and got a toddler bed rail that will keep her from rolling out. My goal tonight is to let her sleep in there or at least until she wakes up and comes to me. This is going to be much harder on me that her. I probably won't sleep at all tonight!

Emily and I went to Spartanburg to visit Caleb, Graysen and Laura today. We had a nice visit and Emily was a little nicer than the last visit. She loves to try to wrestle with Caleb and that just isn't his thing, so he gets a little upset with her. Oneday though, he is going to turn and put a hurting on her and I can't blame him. She can get a little rough. After we came home, we went to have dinner with Ma-Maw Trish and Papa Jack. Her cousins Nick, Luke and Carley were there so she enjoyed their company as well. The boys are several years older than her, so she enjoyed the rough play with them. She was pretty exhausted from her busy day, and is asleep in her new bed!

There are turkey pictures to post from Todd's big hunt on Tuesday, so he is going to try again tomorrow. Emily and I, well.....we will see what tomorrow has in store for us!

OUR WEEK

This past week was rainy and cool, so Emily and I spent most of the week indoors. She did get to put on her raincoat and boots and go check the mail. She found these crazy sunglasses in the bottom of her toy basket and wore them the whole time she was eating breakfast, I couldn't resist taking her picture. She will love it someday when she older! On Friday, Laura, Caleb and Baby Graysen came and played. Emily was somewhat "bratty", because these days, everything is quote: "MINE,MINE"! We are trying to teach her to share. We will be going to see them in a few days, so we will see how she does.

I think the rain is finally over, although I am not complaining since we are still suffering from last years drought. Emily really enjoys being outside. She loves her daddy's 4 wheeler, although she calls it a tractor. And of course, she is always the little helper! We are working out in our yard some this week because Todd is on VACATION?!?! We are so glad he gets to spend all week with us, and won't have to go to work. This morning he treated us to pancakes for breakfast. He makes really good pancakes. He plans on doing some turkey hunting this week as well. Maybe tomorrow I will be able to post a picture of the turkey he hopes to get in the morning!

WELCOME TO OUR BLOG PAGE

We have decided to start a blog to give a chance for our friends and family both far and near to see what is going on in our day to day lives. Which you will find out, isn't much. As you know, we just bought a new home last month and are slowly getting settled. We really love our new neighborhood and our neighbors seem really nice.

We spent Easter here in the Carolina's, and the Easter bunny was extremely nice to Emily, leaving her a tent and some candy. She enjoyed going to the egg hunt with Caleb, but most of all...the candy!

I will try to update the blog often, we hope you enjoy it!
