"Me wear cow costume:"

Several weeks ago, I made a cow costume for Emily to wear to a party at the farm. I thought it would be better for her to play in and more comfortable than her Minnie Mouse costume. Since we were going to be at a farm, I thought the cow would be cute. Well......she didn't like it and didn't want anything to do with it. O.K. no big deal. She NEVER touched the homemade cow costume.
At 5:45 pm this evening, when we were getting ready to get dressed for trick or treat, she wants nothing to do with the Minnie Mouse costume and informs me that she wants to be a cow!!! Well, long story short and after a phone call to Peg (I thought maybe she could convince her into wearing the pretty costume) Emily went trick or treating in the cow costume. I was so sad:(
Caleb, Graysen, Laura and Lee came up and we all went trick or treating in the neighborhood. We had a blast. Todd and Lee took turns pulling the kids in the wagon and they had so much fun. After alot of practice trick or treating at home, both kids did great. We got alot of good candy, but no compliments on the cow costume! Oh well, she had fun.
After coming home and everyone digging into candy, the Slushers left and we ended our Halloween in bed watching "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" Emily and Todd were both asleep at 10pm. We started this Halloween day by standing in line for over an hour waiting to vote. Emily went with us to be included in this important part of history that is about to take place........ Below are the only good pictures of Emily in her Minnie Mouse costume taken by Peg last month when she first got her costume.

School Party!

Emily and I had our fall festival at school today. I didn't get to spend much time in Emily's class at her party, because party days at school are hectic. I think she had a really great time and she loved all the candy she got to bring home.

My costume was a pumpkin and of course Emily was Minnie Mouse. There was alot of activities for the kids, which included face painting as you can tell from looking at the paint smeared on her face.

The Farm

Emily is feeling better and we got to keep our plans and go to a fall festival on Sunday at a local farm. Emily and Caleb both loved feeding the barn animals and they rode a horse! I couldn't believe it, they both were scared when we attempted it in the past.

Todd is officially on his 5 weeks vacation. He will return to work on Dec. 1st. He spent the day in the woods and killed a 6 point this evening....he didn't seem too excited?! Emily and I went back to school this morning. She was a little sad and cried when I left her classroom. It broke my heart:( She only cried a minute or two. Each time I took a peak into her class through out the morning, she was fine. I am trying to get her excited about her big, big party at school coming up on Thursday. She will get to wear her Minnie Mouse costume.

Emily and I.....

had to miss our third day of school! She woke up Wednesday night with a fever, so we had to stay at home today. She had a really good two days, so I hope she will be ready to go back on Monday. She is over the fever, just has a runny, stuffy nose. We also had to miss going to see Laura and the boys today:(

Big Change!

Over the weekend, I was offered a job as a teacher assistant at a local preschool. Todd and I thought it would be good for Emily to start a program of some sort, but I still wanted to be with her as much as possible. And of course, extra money will be nice. I accepted the position working in a 3 year old class. Emily is in the two year old class two doors down. We went to orientation on Monday(then to McDonalds with Laura and Caleb) and started school today! I was more nervous about her being away from us than I was when the dresser fell on her. Keep in mind, she has hardly been away from me since birth. I had a very stressful night Monday night...no sleep and even thought about quitting before we started. However, we went and Emily did great! Her teacher said there were no problems at all and I got her back in one piece. We are at school from 8:30 until 12noon,Monday thru Thurdsay. She told me at lunch that she cried at school and her teacher held her. I will ask tomorrow to see what that was all about. I told her that was ok, because mommy cried too and my teacher hugged me! After dinner, she wanted to play "teacher". I told her to sing daddy and momma a song. She set on the floor, folded her arms and told us to "sit down". I asked her if that is what she had to do at school and she said "yes". Then she started singing and acting out a song, that I had never heard or seen. So...with all that being said, she must have gotten something out of being there today. It was so cute seeing her teaching us how to sit and place our hands on our laps. I hope she has a great day tomorrow. These are the pictures of her getting ready this morning and of her papers she brought home today.

Going to Orientation.......

She packed her backpack and it contained: PaPa Breens yo-yo, Sonya Lee (Little People Doll), Little People Matching Game, Caliou Book, and a little stuffed dog.

Weekend Fun

The weekend started out rainy, which didn't seem to bother Emily at all. She loved playing out in the rain and splashing in the puddles. Saturday, Todd went hunting.....he didn't have any luck at getting a buck. Emily and I went to a Halloween festival with Papa Jack and Maw Maw Trish. She enjoyed playing with her cousin Carley and playing the games. Papa Jack and her shared a bag of popcorn, something she had never had before. She was in line for the costume contest, but dropped out while the judges where going over the categories. She so could have won?!?! The prize was $25!!! We ended the weekend playing at the park and going to Taco Bell for dinner.

OUCH!

Last night, Emily pulled her dresser over ontop of her! She was trying to get something out of the top drawer, and down it came. I was right there and saw it all happen. She is fine, and doesn't even have a bruise on her today. I thought I would wake up and find her black and blue. We were a little worried about her front tooth, I couldn't tell if it was loose or not. It seems to be ok, and it doesn't seem to bother her when I am pushing on it. Minutes later, she was back to herself, and upset because her lamp broke.

Playdate with Caleb,Graysen and Laura

Here are some pictures of our playdate earlier this week. It was great to see Laura, Caleb and Graysen after not seeing them for several weeks. We had corndogs, french fries and Halloween candy and pumpkin pie. The pie is one Mom made while down. We had a great time playing and painting Halloween magnets.

Weekend Visitors

On Sunday, Mom, DAd and Peg came to stay a couple days with us. We went to the pumpkin farm and picked out a huge pumpkin and took another hayride. Emily loves hayrides. That was her third one in a month! We enjoyed having them here, and can't wait for them to return.

Where's the Poop?

Emily received a new book in the mail today. Todd and I were a little puzzled, because we hadn't ordered it and wasn't sure who it was from. As soon as I saw the title, I new who it was from and started to laugh. I looked through the book and though, well...not a book I would have picked out but I will give it to her since it is her gift. Oh my gosh...she loved it!!! We had to read it to her over and over and over. When we weren't reading it, she was reading it to herself and to her dolls. The book is called "Where's the Poop?" It is about diffrent animals and their mommies and daddies reminding them to go poop. It has flaps that you lift up and surprise...the animals went poo-poo. On the last page it has a mommy and a little boy and the little boy goes po0-poo in the potty, and you guessed it...lift the toilet seat and there it is! Reading the back of the book it is suppose to reinforce potty training and give children confidence they need to accomplish such a frightening milestone. Maybe we will have progress in this area tomorrow, we will see. Anyway...THANK YOU UNCLE BRIAN JANNEY, YOU ARE THE BEST. Seriously, the kid did nothing all evening except carry this book around. It is her new favorite.

Tea Party

Emily wanted to be a princess today and wanted to have a tea party. I love how she just comes up with these things now. George, Mama and Daddy were invited to the party. The three of us were a little under dressed, but we had a fun time! We had tea (also known as water), and gummy bears.

Fall Weather

Not alot going on this week. We had a busy weekend. We went to a couple of fall festivals and had a nice time. No pictures though, batteries were not charged for the camera. Today was a great fall day. Nice cool temperatures as you can tell by Emilys outfit today. The one picture is of her watching her favorite new tv show "Martha Speaks". She was lost in the tv and didn't even know I was standing next to her with the camera. It is a cartoon about a dog that ate some alphabet soup and it went to her brain instead of her stomach and now she can talk. We even made a trip to the library last week and checked out Martha Speaks books. She will not be happy when I have to return those books. We have to read them to her about four times a day!
Todd and I are painting the house this week. The outside trim. I fell off the step stool today and spilled a gallon of paint down the side of the house. Luckily, Todd was able to get it all off with the pressure washer. I can't believe I wasted half of the paint! He didn't fire me, so that was good. I am fine by the way, just had to get ALOT of paint off my legs and ruined my flip flops I was wearing.
